Chris Myers Sport touring

Chris lives on the east coast and came to us wanting a bike that would ride the old country roads in style and comfort. With a mix of classic elegence and modern componentry Chris' Signal embraces the beauty of the tested rando bike and the perfomance of the venerable Shimano Ultegra groupset and gorgeous, American made parts from Chris King and Paul Components. Supplies are stored in a custom front bag from Watanabe of Japan which is paired with a custom rack built in the Signal shop. Chris wanted the ablitiy to ride in the dark of dusk or evening so we designed the bike to include a front generator hub, head light and tail light from Schmidt. The wire routing for the front light runs up the front rack strut. The rear wire is routed under the front fender, through the downtube, under the bottom bracket bearings, out the chainstay and under the rear fender to meet the tail light. The front and rear brakes get the same treatment in internal routing. The top tube is kept clean as the housing runs through a sleeve to the rear brake and the Signal-built stem is designed with an internal sleeve that acts as the cable housing stop that allows us to get rid of the unsightly headset spacer/hanger. This bike will turn heads 25 years from now.
