In the fall of 2011, global industrial design firm, Ziba, asked me to join a team of industrial designers in creating the "ultimate utility bike" for the Oregon Manifest challenge. I helped in all stages of design, prototyping and fabrication. Each significant step of the process was chronicled on the design site, Core77.
The result was the Fremont, a feature loaded concept bicycle with custom panniers, a unique locking mechanism, generator lights, and a detachable sidecar for additional luggage options. The Ziba+Signal collaboration has been showcased in print media including the New York Times as well as design blogs, and was the inspiration for a coffee table book which documents the entire Fremont project.
